WHO ARE NURSE PRACTITIONERS?

A Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a healthcare provider with the highest level of nursing. They are able to provide comprehensive primary healthcare through assessments, diagnosing diseases, prescribing medication and ordering diagnostic imaging and lab work. They are able to provide a full range of healthcare to indMduals and families.

WHAT CAN NURSE PRACTITIONERS DO?
  • Primary care.
  • Holistic care that address the needs of each patient (Physical and mental).
  • Chronic disease management and prevention
  • Wellness checkups.
  • Prescriptions for medications.
  • Orders for imaging and diagnostic tests.
  • Treatments and/or procedures.
  • Referrals to specialists
WHY IS THE SERVICE PAID?

In Ontario privately owned, NP led clinics are unable to bill through OHIP as per the Canada Health Act. Therefore, we are a fee for service clinic.

However, orders provided by an NP such as lab work, imaging or specialist referrals will be covered by OHIP.

WHY ARE THERE SOME NURSE PRACTITIONER LED CLINICS THAT ARE ABLE TO ACCEPT OHIP?

There are many NP led clinics that are able to bill through OHIP, these clinics are funded by the government, whereas our clinic is privately owned and unable to receive funding.

ARE WE ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS?

Yes, we are currently accepting new patients!

IS THIS A WALK-IN CLINIC?

We do not operate as a walk in clinic. We see patients same day or next day where we require appointments scheduled before visiting our clinic.
